At St Joseph’s care home in Bristol, we provide residential and nursing care for 40 older people. Many of our residents have mobility issues, which often act as barriers to participating in social and creative activities.
Our accommodation is spread over three floors and our passenger lifts play an integral role in helping to maintain the safety of our residents, staff, volunteers and visitors. Unfortunately, after 40 years of use, the main lift at St Joseph’s is in constant need of expensive repairs and therefore must be replaced.
We are seeking vital donations to help us purchase and install a new passenger lift, to safeguard residents, increase their level of mobility and allow them to maintain their independence for longer.
For those who require a higher level of care and handling such as 1:1 or in some cases 2:1 assistance from carers, new user-friendly and accessible passenger lifts will enable carers to safely move residents between floors and around all areas of the care home, ensuring person-centred care can be delivered at all times.
With fully operational passenger lifts, we can encourage residents to participate in sessions, help them to keep active, renew confidence, give a sense of achievement and increase their overall well-being.
Please donate today and help St Joseph’s Care Home to continue to provide safe, affordable, quality care and assistance to older people in need – not just now but for future generations.
