To encourage more girls and women into the sport of boxing
Who are we?
We are St John Bosco Boxing Club Belfast, a respected and long-established community-based boxing club with a proud history of developing young people through the power of sport. Rooted in the heart of Belfast, our club is more than just a gym; it’s a safe, supportive environment where young people can build confidence, resilience, and lifelong friendships.
Our vision is to make boxing truly inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. While we’ve had great success in engaging boys and young men, we know that girls and women are still hugely underrepresented in boxing, and we’re determined to change that.
we also want to facilitate female empowerment by offering Leadership and mentoring in sport for those girls who are interested in supporting their own perssonal development and that of others

Why are we crowdfunding?
We’re crowdfunding to launch Strong-Her Boxing, an exciting initiative that will actively encourage and support more girls and women to take up boxing.
We want to:
Establish dedicated female-led training sessions to create a comfortable, welcoming space for girls and women.
Invest in specialised equipment suitable for female participants (such as gloves, Chest protectors, headguards, training gear and so forth).
Train and support female coaches and role models, ensuring participants have visible pathways into leadership in the sport.
Cover outreach and engagement costs to connect with local schools, youth groups, and women’s organisations.
Provide access to a qualified dietician/healthy eating facilitator, giving girls and women knowledge on sports nutrition, fuelling performance, and building healthy lifestyles.
Fund a mental health, wellbeing, and mindfulness facilitator to deliver workshops on confidence, resilience, stress management, and positive self-image.
Support coach and volunteer recruitment, retention, and development, ensuring we have the right people to deliver inclusive, high-quality sessions and sustain the programme long term.
By raising these funds, we can break down barriers, support whole-person wellbeing, and show that boxing is a sport for everyone.

So as well as needing your support for this programme, we would also love to get girls (and Women) of all ages involved in the project. We plan to deliver twice weekly classes, exclusively for females on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the club from 7pm
How we’ll spend the money raised
Transparency matters to us, so here’s exactly how donations will be used:
Training equipment (gloves, pads, headguards, skipping ropes, punchbags tailored for young girls and women).
Engaging female coaches to lead dedicated girls’ and women’s sessions
Outreach and community engagement (school visits, taster sessions, promotional materials).
Club environment improvements (minor, non-capital upgrades to changing facilities, installation of inclusive signage).
Mental Health resilience-building workshop facilitator
Healthy eating & positive lifestyle workshop facilitator
First aid kit & medical supplies
Volunteering and coach recruitment, retention and development costs
Community impact
Strong-Her Boxing will have a lasting impact well beyond the gym:
Health & Wellbeing: Encouraging more girls and women to take part in regular exercise, improving physical and mental health.
Confidence & Leadership: Helping participants grow in confidence, resilience, and leadership skills that transfer far beyond sport.
Role Models & Pathways: Providing visible female coaches and athletes to inspire the next generation.
Stronger Community Links: Partnering with schools, women’s groups, and community organisations to ensure the programme benefits the wider Belfast community.
Our club is already regarded as a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for local young people. This project will expand that role, creating a community hub where girls and women feel they truly belong.

How can you play your part?
There are four simple ways you can help us make Strong-Her Boxing a reality:
1. Make a pledge: Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. Momentum is key, so please don’t delay!
2. Spread the word: Share our project on your social media and tell friends and family. The more people we reach, the more support we’ll get.
3. Offer rewards: If you are involved with a local business, you can help by donating rewards for our donors. In return, we’ll give you a big shout-out and promotion!
4. Fundraise for us: Want to run your own mini fundraiser? From sponsored runs to quiz nights, you can easily set up your own page linked to our project.

From everyone at St John Bosco Boxing Club Belfast, THANK YOU for your support
