St Chad's is a church at the heart of its community - our Warm Welcome project allows us to extend our welcome more widely!
St Chad's Church is a church at the heart of its community - we are on the main road that runs through the town, we work with a huge number of local partners, our doors are open throughout the week and we welcome people to or community sessions from all faiths and none.

Over 200 people use our building every week and during the cold winter months, we have been providing free lunches twice a week to anyone and everyone who wants to join us. We host a free, creative wellbeing session run by Birmingham Centre for Art Therapy, a Bingo Club for older people and a hugely popular Stay and Play. The Warm Welcome project has enabled us to extend and augment our existing offer - hot drinks, refreshments and lunch are always free. I addition, we run the Cock Hill Cafe Church at Deelands Hall every Sunday which not only offers spiritual refreshment but a free hot meal to the people who come.

Like any other community space, we have seen our utility bills rise considerably over the last 6months. However, we are determined to remain open, providing the opportunity for people who are isolated, lonely, cold or hungry to come and be together. This funding will provide us with a little bit more financial security moving forward and enable us to keep the doors open for longer.
Money will be spent on keeping refreshments, hot drinks and lunches free for all who come. It will also help us pay our utility bills and provide some much-needed new kitchen equipment. We also run a book / jigsaw exchange, this money will help us purchase some appropriate, more accessible storage.
