Aim
To provide warm items in the community of Marsden over the winter period. Items such as blankets, flasks hats coats etc those that need.
Who are we?
St Bartholomew's church café and warm zone.
We have been providing a community café for over a year now every Thursday , providing hot meals, drinks and company for over 70 people every week 
Community impact
The café provides a place where many people gather once a week for food and companionship. food is offered freely to those who attend and food parcels are often sent home with people who would like them. Over the last 2-3 weeks we have been buying and gifting items including blankets, heaters flasks to donate to those struggling to keep warm in their homes. We have so far gifted over 60 blankets, 12 heaters, 12 oodies and 10 flasks, all donated by generous donations of money by local people and local businesses but we need to buy more due to the requests we get on a daily basis but we need more funding to do this. Why are we crowdfunding?
We are crowdfunding to enable us to buy more items needed by local people to keep warm during this cost of living crisis. People are struggling to keep war, so as our church café is at the centre of the village and is open to provide a warm zone, we see first hand people that need that little bit of extra help. We have been inundated for requests for warm items, but we would like to raise money to do this. We work very closely with Marsden CO-OP food share scheme and this Crowdfunder will allow us to get extra funding as they will match what we raise ( up to £3000) which is a fabulous , generous offer. We are hoping people will donate to our scheme. We are also working with local agencies to help provide items also that may be needed.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Money will be spent on items to keep people warm in their own houses.
Blankets food flasks , dressing gowns, dressing gowns , what ever is needed for each individual, which they can request, We would also use some of the money to make up food parcels and drinks for those coming to the café to take home, we will also be setting up a space in church for coats and warm items of clothing to be dropped off for people to take free of charge .
