Our aim is to advertise our existence and improve our facilities while providing a welcoming environment for new members
We are Shrivenham Smallbore Club a small club that hardly anyone in our area knows about, although we have been in the same place for the last 43 years. Our club is registered Community Amateur Sports Club and operates in a range which is Home Office approved.
Our sport is recognised in the Commonwealth Games and Olympics yet controversial, Target shooting is not only a brilliant sport for keeping you active, but it also builds self-esteem, and confidence, and is an excellent way to spend your downtime, a mindful practice as well as develop lasting friendships. But if this isn’t enough, it is also proven to have measurable health benefits – both physical and mental.
We have plans to expand and link our facilities with other clubs - However in the meantime, we require to maximize what we have by introducing a scaled solution to the redevelopment of our building and site, creating easy access, a warmer internal facility, welcoming club room and toilet facilities for people with health conditions or impairments
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar, use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
1. Relocate the entrance to create an entrance accessible for people with impairments, new external lighting, secure path access
2. Replace the roof to improve the insulation of the building
3. Modernise the club room to make a more welcoming environment - insulation to walls, heating, decorating, new seating, and tables
4. New toilet facilities and kitchen to make your visit a home-from-home engagement
5. Signage side and front display signs
6. Monies spent we have further drawn up plans to expand the club but require an intermediate upgrade to demonstrate our facilities to the surrounding areas but keen to correctly phase this in order not to spend hard-earned raised funds on items that will not be used in the future
Awareness of this health-benefitting sport often overlooked because of the usage of a restricted item. There are many physical benefits to taking up shooting sports. Increased strength, stamina, balance, hand/eye coordination, and fine motor skills are just some of the benefits.
