Who are Squidmoo?

We are Thomas Ellis aka ‘the designer’ and Alex Cuppleditch aka ‘the brains’ and we make the Squidmoo team as it stands. We are two plastic free enthusiasts that want to make a positive imprint on the planet, and we are starting in our beloved hometown in Portsmouth. We have been on a journey to reduce our plastic usage and waste in general through using reusable products, conscious purchasing and generally reducing consumption. 

What we are trying to do here at Squidmoo -

The designer knew he wanted to create a brand that was working towards making the world a better place, plastic free, being carbon neutral and reducing cruelty to animals, but the inspiration hadn't come to life until......

Whilst tackling the mountains during a cycling adventure along the Portuguese Camino the designer had a brain fart to create an environmentally sustainable business that would benefit the planet. This was down to drinking from hot plastic water bottles and where he started to dream of a plastic free and tasty alternative. This was where the Squidmoo stainless steel, twin lined bamboo lid bottle was born.

Bottles you can leave in the sun for hours and the water is still cold or hot and the same applies. My favourite is leaving it in the fridge to chill.

The journey didn't end there.......every encounter we had with items that we thought were awesome but needed a small tweak became part of our range. Ultimately they are all products that we used or needed to become plastic conscious. 

Why is this so important?

5 million tons of plastic is used in the UK and nearly half of that is packaging 

5 trillion pieces of plastic floating in the ocean

27% of household waste is being recycled

How will we achieve this together -

Our Vision -

Here at squidmoo we want to enable and encourage the production of products made from sustainable materials, predominantly bamboo (squidmoo loves bamboo) but always open to other similar materials too.................. ultimately nearly anything is better than plastic!

This is the time where people are starting to consider their purchases and care about what the items they buy are made from....................
