Aim: Our Spring Cafe and Hub provides a safe space for Social Interaction and Inclusion. It opens during the week with events and catering.
The Spring Cafe and Community Hub in Hunmanby is a venue staffed by local community volunteers with a paid Manager Joy Ossai. It provides everything from hot meals to light bites and tea/coffee for drop-ins.
It is widely used for events including singing group, dancing group, meals for inclusion groups, and latterly a warm space.
Our Hub has provided for several years a venue for social and community events. Recently this has expanded to deal with issues associated with Covid then The Cost of living Crisis and Fuel Poverty. We host the Hunmanby Free Fridge redirecting food into the community rather than going to Landfill and are involved in the local "Warm Spaces" initiative.
Our Spring Hub is primarily supported by our Church "Hunmanby All Saints". When we had the original vision the church was able to fully fund the effort and provide the majority of volunteers. following Covid and the subsequent Cost of Living Crisis and Fuel Poverty we have included more Community based efforts and events and involvement seeking funding from other charities and Government Agencies. Our programme is now guided and delivered by joint projects partnered with the above charities and Agencies. Crowdfunding would be part of this. Our Church
Our Spring Hub Building in Stonegate in the centre of Hunmanby is a prime location for a venue for Social and Community events and random individual drop-ins. It is a key facility bringing together people for mutual support and individuals and families in need.
The cost of running this facility in terms of heating and electricity costs has grow tremendously in recent months. We are also seeking support for management and administration costs. Our supply of catering also would benefit from being subsidised.
