Aim
Organising Supper clubs to share my homemade food. Cooking for people is my passion. It’s my way to connect with others and show love.
I am fascinated in the international language of food and how it is removing all the barriers and spreading love all over the world!
My name is Nahed. I moved away from Jordan over twenty years ago and since then Cardiff became my second home. At the beginning, I missed my family and friends a lot, and it was only when I cooked that I felt my mother was standing next to me and I wasn’t alone. Sharing my dishes with my friends made me feel more connected . I came to realise that food is about memories, sharing stories, culture, and love.
I started working as a part_time self_employed interpreter 11 years ago. My job made me mix with people of different backgrounds and helping them to be understood and communicate easily which is great and very rewarding.
It was two years ago when I started sharing my cooking journey on Instagram (@cooking.Journey). I felt so happy being able to share my mum’s recipes with the people around and help them to cook healthy dishes using local seasonal products. Now I have more than 10 thousand organic followers which is so encouraging and great.
At the moment, I feel it’s the perfect time to start a small business to share my passion at a wider level by organising supper clubs at hired venues. This project means a lot to me as it will give me the chance to support my daughters more and share my love for healthy fantastic food with our community. The money raised will help me to buy the equipment I need to organise my supper clubs like a big fridge, cutlery, food, hire a venue, etc. A percentage of each ticket I sell will be donated to Children In Need and charities for homeless people here in the U.k and in Palestine and Jordan as everyone has the right to be fed regardless of where they are in the world!
