Sponsored Swim Update
Sadly due to life events I have had to take a break from this swim...
However in better news I shall be starting again in September and due to the long break I am planning to continue to 44Km (what am I thinking)...
Second swim update
Second swim took place on Wednesday 27th March, I managed to do 96 lengths in 85 minutes. This means I have done 156 lengths in total, which is almost 10% of the 40Km.
Next swim (prob 3rd April) I'll be aiming to do 104 lengths, away on 10th April so won't be doing lengths then.
First Swim 1500m done
With a delayed start to this fundraiser, I finally took to the water on Wednesday 6th March.
I managed 60 lengths of the 25 meter pool in around 55 minutes, giving a nice 1,500 meters off the target of 40,000 meters
Hospital Radio Reading has been broadcasting for over 60 years, with the challenges of the last few and with the world becoming more cashless, fundraising has become more and more challenging...
In a bid to do my 'bit' to help raise much needed funds, I originally thought that swimming the equivalent of the English channel to France which is 33km/20.5 miles, this is approximately 1,352 lengths of a 25 meter pool.
I'm not a fan of odd numbers, so decided to round it up to 40Km/25 miles, making it 1,600 lengths of a 25meter pool.
I am looking to do around 90 minutes each week, this will equate to around 100 lengths each week, meaning this challenge will take me around 16 weeks.
Thank you for your support.
