Splash Pilion is a service user led project involving the selling and working with recycled panit.....watch this space!!! Description The project will accept anyone with a history of Homelessness, Drug/Alcohol, Mental Health or any other complex need. Splash Pilion will not only be a paint shop but also a training ground and drop-in service for those that wish to make active change in thier lives. General Information Splash Pilion Splash Pilion Paint Project is a Social Enterprise: “Resettlement services can help former homeless families and single people make an effective transition to a new home. Homeless people often move into new properties with few financial resources or personal possessions and may have lost contact with friends, family and other social networks. Schemes that provide practical, emotional and financial help, often combining support from paid staff and volunteers, have proved successful in ensuring that tenancies do not break down. These schemes should be as much part of Supporting People as a homelessness strategy. The Government should consider the feasibility of targets that measure how effective local services are at sustaining tenancies.”I Shelter. The Service: Splash Pilion will operate as a social enterprise on a not for profit basis Our paint shop will open from 10 till 5pm from Monday to Friday for purchase of paint Customers will also be able to discuss work that needs to be done We supply paint at £1 per litre to low income, vulnerably housed people and those engaging with services that address ‘complex needs’ The service will be available to single persons and families Art collectives, squat groups, community centres/groups, schools and colleges can all express an interest We will work with the above groups to establish Splash Pilion as a viable project We will provide a painting and decorating service to these groups at an affordable rate To train service user volunteers in customer service and painting/decorating NVQ 2’s or equivalent Service users volunteers will have the opportunity to access this project through a referral system All service user volunteers will go through an application and induction process To paint at least one community project annually.

Community Paint Service
Splash Pilion Community Paint Service sells recycled paint of all colours and textures at £1 per litre.This not only benefits the environment but provides low-cost paint to the community in these difficult times.
In our first year of partnership with the Forest Recycling Project we sold over 500 litres of paint to schools, community centres, scout groups, night shelters and members of the public who have dropped in to see what we offer.
Our volunteers have also successfully completed over 12 domestic jobs and have brought their energy to 2 community projects this year
We offer a painting and decorating service for low income groups especially those struggling in the community who may benefit from having their home refurbished. The painting is carried out by our team of volunteers, many of whom are either in services or trying to make an active change in their own lives whilst assisting others to do the same.
The project will accept and employ anyone with a history of homelessness, drug/alcohol, mental health or offending history. We train our volunteers to NVQ standards in painting/decorating, customer service, health and safety. Splash Pilion not only operates as a community paint shop but also a training centre and drop-in service.
Both volunteer trainees and customers are referred to us through various community agencies. Members of the public are also able to drop-in during office hours.
Currently, Splash Pilion is situated in the basement of The Pilion Trust’s central office, which although a cosy, intimate space, does not allow for growth of the project. We are sharing the space with outreach teams and clients from other Pilion Trust projects.
Our aim is to move the shop and expand the service; to do this we need £8000.
£5000 of this would help us move into a new premises.
£3000 would secure us a van.
A much needed resource for the team who are currently travelling to jobs via public transport.
