This means that the cottages which sit on the roundabout near Bluewater will soon be knocked down to make way for the new roads. Sadly this also includes Spirits Rest Horse Sanctuary.

Spirits Rest was founded many years ago by a lady called Christine. Over the year's Chris has rescued many horses and other animals from neglect, abuse, abandonment amongst many other situations. Sadly this will mean that all the horses, cats /foxes etc that she has rescued over the years will all have to be moved. Chris works tirelessly day in day out and she never asks for any help. Chris is out there in all weather's, at all hours whilst we are tucked up in bed, saving animals and being a voice for the animals. Chris has witnessed animal abuse at it's worst, things you'd only ever imagine but still she keeps going.

Where are we now :

So after months and months of blood, sweat and tears Chris has finally found alternative land to accommodate her sanctuary. Sadly though there is so much work that needs to be done before the animals can be moved safely. New fencing needs erecting, new stables need building, new pens for the cats, food stores, hay stores and the list goes on.

Over the years we have held quizes, fun dog shows, stalls at fetes and every penny raised has always gone towards the cost of food, hay, bedding, vet bills etc. Sadly with the unexpected Covid-19 we have been unable to hold any fund raising events which means funds are low at a time when they are needed more than ever.

I know these are unprecedented times and money is tight everywhere but as a last resort to try and help raise money for the sanctuary I thought I'd try a fundraiser.

Unfortunately we are uncertain when we'll be able to continue with our own fundraising events. If you are able to donate or even share I would be very grateful.

Sadly the work never stops as there are always animals in need of help and people always know the person to help them but without our help this may not be possible.

Please help me to help Chris so she may continue the fantastic work she does for the animals.

This is the link to Spirits Rest which will give you some insight to the wonderful works Chris does.

I just want to say thank you for all those who have taken the time to read this, donate or share and I will keep you all posted on the progress of Spirits Rest Horse Sanctuary
