The Cause
Millions of women across underserved communities in Sub-Saharan Africa still lack access to timely screening, early diagnosis and life-saving healthcare.
Every three minutes, a woman dies from pregnancy- or childbirth-related causes. Around two-thirds of women’s cancers are diagnosed too late, while women and girls account for approximately 63% of new HIV infections in the region.
Spirit Health Foundation is a UK charity working to change this. We equip local health workers with smart technology to deliver life-saving screening, early risk detection and care in underserved communities across Ethiopia, Nigeria, Eswatini and South Africa.
So far, we have helped provide vital healthcare to around 200,000 people, but we are only just getting started. Our ambition is to reach 30 million people with life-saving healthcare over the next five years.
