About the project
I'm running the London Marathon and attempting to break the world record for fastest marathon dressed in a superhero costume. The existing record was set in the 2012 Toronto marathon by "The Flash" and the time to beat is 2:33:58. I'm aiming to run under 2:30 and given my marathon pb is 2:16:49 you would think this is easy but keep in mind that last Sunday I won the Manchester marathon in 2:17:47 so I have 1 week to recover! I obviously have the added impairment of running in a full body lycra spiderman suit and I have no idea how difficult this will be. So get behind me and donate a bit of cash!
I'm essentially going to be a sub 2:30 pacer so if I help you out on Sunday then that's surely worth a pound or 2 per mile;-) or if you see me running round the streets and enjoyed what you saw then all pledges appreciated. Or if you jist want to get behind a crazy idea then go nuts! The most fun you can have with your clothes on surely!
The initial target to reach is £600 which mainly goes towards the Guinness World Record service fees. Without their Fast Track service I wouldn't be able to go for the record! All money above and beyond this goes to the Parkinson's UK charity.
