We are Awesome Wales, a social enterprise that runs Eto preloved kids store and supports our local community in Barry We’re raising funds to install essential toilet and kitchen facilities, including a baby-changing station and a fully accessible toilet, to make our space more welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

Our store isn’t just a place to shop for preloved items—it’s a community hub and cafe that brings people together, supports families in need, and operates a vital community pantri. With your help, we can take the next step in serving our community better.

Why did we need this project?

Right now, our space has no toilet facilities or kitchen amenities. This creates challenges for the families, individuals, and groups who rely on us:

• Parents struggle to find a place to change their babies, making visits stressful.
• Disabled individuals cannot access the projects we provide comfortably.
• Our community pantri is limited in what it can do without a kitchen for food prep and workshops.

This gap limits the positive impact we can have—and that’s why we’re asking for your help.

Our solution

With your support, we will:

• Build a fully accessible toilet, including a baby-changing area, so everyone feels welcome.
• Install a kitchen to expand our community pantri, allowing us to expand the project and host cooking workshops.
• Create a safe, inclusive space that supports families, individuals with disabilities, and pantri users.

These improvements will help us serve more people, provide greater comfort, and foster a stronger sense of community.

Thanks to 50% government funding, your donation will go TWICE as far! For every pound you donate, we’ll receive an additional pound from the government, meaning your support has double the impact.

Breakdown of project budget

Here’s how the funds will be used:

• £6,000: Construction of a fully accessible toilet, including baby-changing facilities.
• £1,440: Installation of kitchen cabinets, counters and equipment.
• £1,440: Plumbing, electrics, and other essential fittings.
• £1,440: New washing machine and fridge freezer.
• £3,080: Decoration, flooring and finishing touches.
• £600: Planning and legal fees

Our total project cost is £14,000, with 50% funded by the government. We need to raise £7,000 through this crowdfunder to make this dream a reality.
