With less than a week until Christmas we urgently ask you to stand up for your local wildlife now, before it's too late.
Over 50% of our wildlife is in decline
There has been a:
97% fall in hedgehog numbers since 1950
68% fall in toad numbers since the 1980s
80% fall in lapwing numbers since the 1960s
We need to act now before it’s too late.
15% of the UK’s species are threatened with extinction.
Let's give our wildlife hope this Christmas. This can help ensure that wildlife is around for us to see for many Christmases to come.
You can support nature simply by donating or gifting someone a species secret santa! We've made a list (and checked it twice) of some amazing species that need some help.
So how does Species Secret Santa work?
1. Choose to be a Secret Santa to lapwing, hedgehog, bee, osprey, bat or toad. Can't decide? Click here to spin the Species Wheel then head back to this page to pick a gift.
2. Scroll down to find your species and pledge your gift; there's three pledges per species to choose from plus a few extra big gifts!
3. Giving the gift of wildlife is a great alternative present for a friend or family member. Just select the 'It's a gift!' option when choosing your pledge and we'll get in touch to arrange the wild surprise with you!
4. Secret Santa works both ways remember, so once you've pledged a gift your wildlife will be in touch to let you know what the gift means, how it will help and perhaps even where you can catch up with each other in Derbyshire.
5. Feel awesome!
All gifts pledged to Species Secret Santa enables Derbyshire Wildlife Trust to do more for your wildlife, right now. This Christmas let's build toward a #WilderDerbyshire.
Thank you.
