New stretch target
Any extra funds we raise we will invest into the equipment that maintains the Playing Fields.
Following the success of last year on and off the field we are looking to run another project in 2024 to replace our Heavy Roller and Mower
by Spaxton Cricket Club in Bridgwater, Somerset, United Kingdom
Any extra funds we raise we will invest into the equipment that maintains the Playing Fields.
Formed in 1892 we are one of the longest standing village Cricket Clubs in Somerset.
Over the last 18 months we have been transforming the club on and off the field, looking to bring Cricket to our community for years to come.
In 2023......
After the success of last years Crowdfunder where we smashed our target and raised a huge £28.4k. This year we are looking to continue the amazing progress as a club on and off the field. Last years project allowed us to deliver a huge Ball Stop Netting installation at our ground to protect local residents and surrounding houses with the funds.
On the field was a successful season for the club as we secured promotion from Division 4 of the Somerset Cricket League finishing Runners Up in a well contested league.
This year we hope to continue to invest in our Ground and the equipment that maintain it, so we can continue to invest in our facilities to provide Cricket for Juniors, Woman and Girls and our growing mens side.
At the end of last year our Heavy Roller that maintains the playing square broke down and has been deemed beyond repair despite numerous efforts over the years to prolong its life.
The roller will need replacing along with the outfield mowers that maintain the Playing Fields where we hold all Cricket activity. Any proceeds from the fundraising will be invested in replacing the necessary ground maintenance equipment.
Maintaining the ground and Playing Fields is a vital part of providing a welcoming an outdoor space for the village, community and a variety of other activities in the village and surrounding area.
Last year we ran our first ever National Junior Programs for young boys and girls aged between 5-11. The program ran for 8 weeks and welcomed over 30 young children to cricket. We hope to extend the same offering this year and introduce a woman's and girls program too,
Last year we held an amazing Fundraising evening in to support our Crowdfunding efforts and partnered with the amazing MNDA charity. A charity close to all of our hearts at Spaxton CC. The evening was a huge success with live music, an amazing bar, raffle, auction and food enjoyed by over 125 guests. We were able to to support local families and patients of this horrendous disease by donating some of the proceeds from the evening to the local association.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
