Ernesettle`s only youth group, SPACE shot, needs your help, now!
Run by Plymouth Charity Barefoot, SPACE shot has worked with over 270 young people on the deprived Ernesettle estate since it opened in early 2014. Thats 46% of all 10-19 year olds in the area. We provide three sessions of open access youth work a week and offer a safe place where all young people aged 10-19 in Ernesettle are welcome to come along.
Our youth workers have built trusting relationships with the young people who attend SPACE Shot, allowing them to provide a wide range of fun and educational activities as well as information and professional support . This has enabled our youth team to assist young people with a wide range of issues, from safe relationships to employment and mental health to homelessness.
Lottery funded since 2014, we have just found out that our funding bid for the next three years of support has not been succesful and as a small charity we only have enough funding to keep SPACE shot running till the end of May 2017.
SPACE shot has been a real success story, starting in 2012 when the youth forum run by local charity the Budshead Trust had to close. Barefoot worked with partner organisations to re open the Trust's small HQ as the SPACE Centre and start a new youth group. Since then, SPACE Shot Youth Project has built the relationships and reputation that now make it a vital part of this strong Plymouth community.
What your donations will pay for:
* Three youth sessions a week open to young people in Ernesettle aged 10-19
* Two professional youth workers to run sessions.
* Time for us to raise more funds and secure SPACE Shot for the future
* SPACE Shot utility bills
If we reach our target your money will be doubled, so please pledge now and tell all your family, friends and work colleagues.
Please help us save SPACE shot for Ernesettles young people and the future.
