At Sow Clever, we want to inspire everyone to get growing their own! We donate 10% of net profits to Mind so you can donate while you grow.
ABOUT US

Sow Clever are Lucy Emsley, husband John and son Isaac. We live in the lovely Calder Valley in Yorkshire.
I (Lucy) have 20 years experience in the packaging industry, plus a keen love for gardening, so it seemed right to build a business that drew on both my professional background and passion for growing plants and edibles.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
We are a small business, with a social conscience, committed to helping customers start their own journey with sowing, growing and the joys of gardening. We passionately believe in the benefits of gardening on our physical and mental health. So much so that we donate 10% of net profits on every box sold to Mind charity.
OUR BUSINESS IN A NUTSHELL
We provide a gift boxes and a subscription box service that gives the customer the materials and expertise to grow theirown vegetables and flowers from seed.
Convenient and simple, it takes the pain out of knowing what to plant and when. Perfect for novice gardeners who want to adopt a more environmentally responsible lifestyle, reduce their plastic usage and carbon footprint. Budget friendly, the subscription gives you the materials to grow up to 30 plug plants per month (that’s 360 plug plants a year!).
OUR CURRENT POSITION
Our website went live in May 2019, but Im still very much in the early stages of brand awareness. In November 2019 I started an Etsy shop, as I was finding it difficult to drive traffic to my website. I have had some great feedback from customers.
“Very quick delivery pre Christmas, very helpful when contacted prior to order about speed of delivery. My daughter is delighted with her pack and can’t wait to get growing a cactus! We have just bought another for a friends birthday.“ (Jan 2020, via Etsy)
“Lovely kits, perfect for Christmas presents. Nice variety of plants available, including some unusual ones, like the cactus, that will appeal to kids. Quick delivery, very happy!” (Nov 2019, via Etsy)
