New stretch target
With more money raised, we are working on creating a Memorial Garden to our founder and creator Michael Lockwood, who unfortunately passed away in January 2021.
The Southport Bijou Cinema is an Not-For-Profit, volunteer-run independent community cinema in the North West town of Southport, screening old classics, new independent movies, and a wide range of other things to its 75 seat audience daily. We are a registered Community Interest Company.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of British small businesses, and in particular Cinemas across the country. After just 5 months of being open, we were sadly forced to close our doors temporarily, and plenty more times thereafter. As of May 2021, the Southport Bijou Cinema will be re-open for socially distanced business, thanks to all the wonderful people who supported us on here and by visiting us.
Over lockdown, Crowdfunder offered up their platform to allow UK small businesses to pre-sell their events, bookings etc for cash now on a promise to redeem these at a later date. We made this page in order to do this with GIFT CARDS, MEMBERSHIPS and other DONATIONS, in order to help a little over the coming, difficult months.
This page is still open for any and all donations and of course, they are appreciated greatly. Thank you all so much for your support for our little cinema, we love each and every one of you. Stay safe!
