Who are we?

We are Southgate Sports and Leisure Trust and we operate the Southgate Hockey Centre, the home of Southgate Hockey Club

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are resurfacing the Water Pitch in April and May....

Every 12 years or so we have to resurface our fantastic pitches. Our schedule is to do the Water Pitch this April and the Sand Pitch will follow, probably in 2026.

This is by far the biggest investment we ever make - it is fundamental to all our hockey at Southgate and it's all part of making our facilities the best in the country.

Every year we put money aside to help fund this. The investment is huge! The impact of COVID has had an impact on our fundraising abilities and we are trying to catch up.

To balance the books, we are seeking donations from our community as well as applying for grant funding.

As an incentive we are offering you the chance to sponsor a PITCH SQUARE. You will soon see a board in the clubhouse depicting the new pitch. For £20 per square you can put your name to a piece of Southgate history and help secure our future. BUY AS MANY SQUARES AS YOU LIKE. The minimum donation is £20 per square BUT you can pay more if you like - please do!

How we’ll spend the money raised

Our target is to raise £20,000 to help fund our pitch replacement.

All proceeds from this campaign will be used to pay for this project.

Community impact

Southgate Hockey Club and Hockey Centre are integral parts of our local community. We provide hockey facilities for players of all levels of ability and age groups. Our age range is from 3 to 83!

We passionately believe that all of us can benefit from taking part in team sports and hockey, in particular. The physical and mental health benefits are, we believe, well documented and often understated. Our mission is to get more people playing hockey!

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
