It's time to replace our current roller which has been with us for over 30 years - so we can get more cricket on the Common for more people!

  • Who are we?

We are a local community focused cricket club, reflecting our local population fielding sides in men's, women's and junior cricket across multiple age groups for both boys and girls.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We need a new roller that will enable us to keep up with the high demand that we currently have for cricket on the Common. This has risen significantly in the last few years due in no small part to a huge group of volunteers who have really driven the club forward.

Over the last couple of seasons our current roller has suffered a couple of expensive breakdowns so as a club we feel its time to upgrade to something that is more reliable and can better do the job.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Money raised will be put towards the purchase of a brand new roller. This will enable us to prepare pitches that will last longer and mean we can fulfil the great demand for cricket on the Common. We estimate the new roller will cost between £12k-£15k, so as a club we are also doing various additional fundraisers during the summer.

Community impact

As a club we are highly focused on our local community and regularly get involved with local good causes. We run a very popular junior section every Saturday morning which is well supported by local families and has grown significantly in recent years.

Five years ago we started a girls section and three years ago a women's section. A new roller will help us get more cricket on the Common for more people - including allowing us to offer the Common for local school matches, growing cricket in the local area.
