Foster Families break

Aim

We are looking to raise funds for Southampton’s looked after children and their foster families to provide them with a break to Haven.

We are Southampton Foster Carers Association, a not for profit charity that helps support our local looked after children and the foster families that welcome them into their homes. 

Children who come into the care of Local Authorities are from a wide variety of backgrounds and all have different reasons for being in care. Our foster carers offer a warm, supportive and a firm foundation that enables these children and young people to move into the future with confidence.

The funds we raise provide events such as disco's, fun days and an annual break away. The children benefit from spending time with other children who also cannot be with their birth families for whatever reason. It also provides self-esteem and confidence.

We would normally run events to fund the activities for the children, however, due to Coronavirus we have been very limited in raising funds. We are applying for funding for our annual break for foster families. It will be a 3 day holiday to Haven and includes vouchers for activities for the children to do whilst there.
