We are a youth girls football academy based in Camberwell, South London that want to provide as many young girls in South London as possible with professional football coaching that matches that with which you would traditionally have to be selected to receive. We provide a safe and supportive environment for girls around the Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich Boroughs to attend the program, ensuring all players have the opportunity regardless of experience, ability or financial background.
We would like to take South London Girls Football Academy Under 12 team to the Gothia Cup in Sweden in July 2024 - the largest youth tournament in the world! We believe they can compete with the best teams there and do South London proud! This will provide an unbelievable competitive experience for the girls and a potential gateway for the younger girls in the academy.
All of the money will be used to take our Under 12 team to compete at the Gothia Cup in 2024 - a team we believe can compete to win there but do not have the financial means to go!
We have seen our academy grow to almost 70 players in a little under 2 years. These players come from across Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich Boroughs. We have seen a huge sporting, health, mental and social impact on both players and parents within the community as they have grown together. Our culture and community is made up of people from all the backgrounds you would find in the local area and we even provide some scholarships to support those without the financial means to play.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
