Aim
Help South Durham Gymnastics replace & upgrade worn & torn equipment to make our facility more safe and accessible for our community members
South Durham Gymnastics is a purpose built gymnastics and trampoline facility located in Spennymoor, Co. Durham. We are a charity with a dedicated team of coaches and volunteers, and our priority is ensuring the Gymnastics Centre is accessible for all community members, from birth to adulthood.
Our aim is to make our facility more attractive and accessible - enticing people of all ages and abilities into sport. Ranging from ‘Baby & Toddler’, ‘Family Play’, Disability and ‘Sportsability’ (autism friendly) sessions, through to School delivery, Recreational Gymnastics & Trampoline classes, Adult workshops and a competitive Women's Gymnastics programme.
SDG provides the Spennymoor community with the opportunity to access a brilliant sporting facility and learn exciting new skills. We are also a host venue for School festivals, Regional Competitions and coaching/judging courses.
Unfortunately, some of the club's equipment is quickly reaching the end of its lifespan. Our main sprung floor area needs urgently replacing, as do some of our blocks, safety mats and bars.
This was a priority for us before COVID, unfortunately the gym's closures throughout the pandemic has depleted the savings that were intended to replace the floor and purchase additional equipment (e.g. sensory play items for our disability & toddler sessions).
The money raised will go towards replacing these items, allowing us to continue to deliver sessions safely to our 1000+ members, and will allow us to resume the hosting of competitions and events.
