To raise funds to buy much needed equipment for our local community cricket club.
On Sunday 26th May 2024, a group of players and supporters of Petworth Park Cricket Club will be taking part in an epic 30.7 mile sponsored walk from Sussex County Cricket ground in Hove to Petworth Park Cricket Club’s ground to raise funds for much needed equipment for the club to help bring more sporting opportunities to the community.

We hope to raise £5,000 from the sponsored walk and this event is part of the club’s wider fundraising campaign to raise £20,000 for much needed equipment.

The walk will start at 7am in Hove and the aim is to reach Petworth Park by 7pm. The walkers include two ten year olds, Tom and Ben Thorpe, who are challenging themselves to join in the sponsored walk.

Tom is determined to do the full 30.7 miles and is the youngest PPCC player signed up to walk the furthest. We are certain his sheer determination will get him as far as possible!

Ben will be joining to do the 10K route and the club is really proud of all the young people and adults challenging themselves to help raise funds for the club.

Tom and Ben have been a part of the club since its earliest beginnings of revival in 2016, when at two and a half years old they picked up cricket bats and caught the bug for the sport!

In 2017 the club officially reformed and in the seven years since its resurrection, Petworth Park Cricket Club has grown from a standing start, to having three adult league teams, a Sunday XI & T20 XI, Women's Soft Ball Cricket league team, three Junior age-group teams, and offering the ECB All Stars & Dynamos programmes.

Petworth Park CC is an open to all, community cricket club with ClubMark and affiliated to Sussex Cricket Foundation and the ECB. The club has now taken on a second ground in Tillington to fulfil the growing demand, and funds for facilities are now needed at both grounds.
We are working very hard to secure funds for additional equipment including a new score-box, a Flicx Pitch, sight screens, pitch covers and further grounds machinery.

Please help support Tom, Ben and the club to help ensure the future of cricket in our community. 🙏🌟
