Aim: Uncovering Manchester’s next generation of music talent through free artist development, mentorship and live performance.

🎧 What is SoundSpace Manchester & SOUNDSCOUT?

SoundSpace Manchester is a creative hub dedicated to empowering young people through music and arts, providing access, mentorship, and a supportive community.

SOUNDSCOUT is our flagship talent search and artist development programme designed to discover and nurture Manchester’s most promising young music creators aged 13 to 25, especially those from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds, including neurodivergent youth.

👋 Who I Am — My Story

I’m Monroy Jarvis, founder of SoundSpace Manchester. After starting my career as a young MP and mentor, I’ve spent 15+ years creating projects that open doors for young people through music, especially those often overlooked by the mainstream industry. SOUNDSCOUT is the next step in this mission — a citywide journey that finds and supports hidden talent and builds futures.

🌟 What Happens at SOUNDSCOUT?

SOUNDSCOUT is a multi-phase talent search and development journey designed to support young artists from discovery to professional growth:

Phase 1: Discovery & Entry

  • Open call for submissions across Manchester — we invite young people to share their music or creative work online or at community hubs.

  • Workshops and Q&A sessions introduce participants to the music industry and creative skills.

Phase 2: Development & Mentorship

  • Selected artists receive free artist development sessions including songwriting, production, and performance workshops.

  • Participants get one-on-one mentoring from industry professionals tailored to their goals.

  • Access to professional studio recording time to develop their sound.

  • Support to complete the Arts Award, providing a valuable creative qualification.

Phase 3: Showcase & Industry Exposure

  • Artists perform at a live showcase event held at a major Manchester venue.

  • Industry guests and media are invited to discover new talent.

  • Participants gain networking opportunities and advice on next steps.

🎁 What Participants Get from SOUNDSCOUT
