Aim
To bring the healing properties of sound –so vital now– into our programme and use the income to offer free yoga to vulnerable local groups.
WHO IS YOGAHOME?
Founded over 20 years ago, Yogahome is a friendly and relaxed centre in Hackney for yoga, pilates, meditation and tai chi. We also offer workshops and therapies, and run an organic cafe and co-working space all from our studio space in N16. We are a registered charity (reg no. 1119260) and our proceeds provide free yoga classes and therapeutic massage to schools and disadvantaged groups in Hackney.
COVID-19 IMPACT ON OUR STUDIO AND CHARITY WORK
Covid-19 has had a real impact on our studio. Despite the significant reduction in income, we managed to keep the extensive number of classes that we were known for before lockdown continuing online. But we had to make cuts: we’re simply unable to continue funding our free offer of yoga to diverse groups in Hackney who are not able to come to the studio. We also had to pause our sound offering, which especially now is a much-needed healing companion to movement.
HELP US LAUNCH OUR SOUND HEALING PROGRAMME!
We are now asking for your contribution towards bringing the calming, sleep-improving and mood-boosting properties of sound into our classes - both now and beyond lockdown - and start a new monthly gong bath, which will also be recorded and made available post-event in our members' library for everyone to enjoy.
In turn this additional income stream will fund our outreach to local vulnerable communities and bring the benefits of yoga and guided rest to those who have little access to it. Not only will your donation enable special sound offerings for you to enjoy online now and live in the studio when we re-open, it will also have an additional impact on local communities. It's a win-win situation!
But we need your help to make this happen. We need to purchase the audio interface to record and stream high quality sound healing work and the following instruments to create magical events: a 34" gong, a stand, mallets, crystal bowls and chimes.
