We plan to reinvest the additional funds into the club. To offer new classes, we will need to upgrade our existing equipment and acquire new supplies. If there are remaining funds, we will send our volunteers to courses to enhance their skills and knowledge. This will enable us to offer the best possible services to our local community.
We are an award-winning weightlifting academy based in Llanelli, delivering high-quality, affordable coaching to young people and adults in our local community.
This would primarily be used to fit a sound system in the gym to increase participation and also as a health and safety measure for communicating with and managing the rising numbers attending our gym. It would also be used when we hold regional weightlifting competitions at the gym to ensure the smooth running of the competitions. The PA system would also allow for us to embed the use of technology in our training sessions, beyond simply playing music. Whilst we'd be able to communicate clearly with larger classes, we could also start using animated timers to control exercises, allowing for both visual and auditory cues for our members, some of whom have additional learning needs and visual impairments, making our classes safer and more inclusive for all. This would also allow for us to run more/larger classes, keeping up with our increasing demand and being able to develop further, by starting to offer girls-only classes and younger age group classes that could run alongside some of the older groups.
The sound system will allow us to run more classes, with higher numbers, increasing the opportunities for young people in Llanelli to engage with weightlifting in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. Our gym is also used by the local college and we run sessions for local grassroots football, rugby and netball clubs, so this would also improve facilities for them and their training. It would also allow us to enagage some local young people who may not think weightlifting is for them, such as children with additional needs and girls-only classes.
