We're still collecting donations
On the 17th April 2020 we'd raised £1,852 with 74 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We are sustained through catering orders. Without these orders, we cannot cover staff costs and our rent. We need help to cover these costs!

On the 17th April 2020 we'd raised £1,852 with 74 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
It will come as no surprise for you to hear that as an organisation, we are being hit by the current global COVID-19 pandemic.
As a social enterprise, we rely on external catering orders and funding grants to survive. As of February this year, all of our funded work came to an end and we have been solely keeping afloat through catering orders. As a result of this, many people have worked and donated their time and efforts without payment in order to keep our most vulnerable team members in employment.
Now, we are in a deeply uncomfortable position. Without our regular income, staff cannot be paid and our rent won’t be either.
If at any point you have attended our workshops or visited the cafe, you’ll know the joy and life that lives in Soul Food Sisters. No one leaves hungry, no one leaves feeling lonely and no one leaves without receiving a big smile and a “thank you!”.
Our priority has always been connecting women, communities and supporting Glasgow’s migrant community. We do not want to see an end to Soul Food Sisters.
What we are asking of you, our supporters and community, is to give whatever you can to ensure we make it through this crisis. In return, we'll provide you with some goodies - edible or otherwise, as a token of our appreciation.
Support from the Scottish Government has been announced but with little information, no clear plan, staff, and bills to pay and fear and doubt hanging over us, we must first rely on you, our community.
We will be doing what we can to support those in need, and to work with other partners and the council to deliver food and other vital support.
We promise to keep you all updated on our situation and appreciate all support, encouragement, and compassion sent our way.
We would also like to send solidarity to our partners, fellow hospitality workers and anyone who is doing their best to survive.
We can do this together.
