Let’s get the doors open to this new, high end venue that’s almost ready to take High Wycombe by storm….
Chris Miller is a local entrepreneur who began his journey serving afternoon teas from a van at the market ‘Le Van’, which rapidly grew and he then traded it in for a small cafe in The Chilterns shopping centre.
What began as a 3mth pop up Christmas cafe, quickly turned into the infamous ‘Air Raid Shelter Cafe and Tearoom’, which has become a hidden treasure not only to the local community, but with a Thank You wall dedicated to those serving in the wars…a place to remember loved ones.
It is full of memorabilia, fun and education, not to mention fabulous food and drink served by a team who care for every guest individually.
Chris has since taken on what was The Bell pub, opposite The Chilterns in Frogmoor, to unleash his imagination again in a totally different format!!
Born in 1877, Sir Henry Soshingdon was the sole heir of Lord and Lady Soshingdon.
He loved nothing more than partying around the world, collecting beautiful artefacts (and the odd female and male admirer) along the way. He loved animals and even brought his sister, Lady Izabella, a Zebra back from his travels, which she could often be seen riding around the Soshingdon Estate.
Much to Lord and Lady Soshingdon’s annoyance, Henry could be found holding court with the servants, corrupting them with many a tale upon his return.
When Sir Henry hit middle aged, he became frustrated with the stuffy gentlemen clubs that Britain had to offer. His friends would often say, ‘If you could do a better job then you should open your own club.’ So this is what he did and Sosh Club was born...
However, Covid has delayed the opening both with restrictions and financially, so let’s get those doors open!!
We cannot wait to see you on the other side of the bar!!
