Aim: To record a festive, family-friendly Christmas album featuring saxophone quartet, piano, vocals, and a brand new commission.

Hello! We are the Sonorité Saxophone Quartet, a UK-based saxophone ensemble passionate about bringing joyful, high-quality music to audiences of all ages. For the past three years, we’ve performed our family-friendly Christmas concert series in venues, churches, and schools across Hertfordshire and North London, sharing Christmas classical music and festive favourites that have become a tradition for many.

Now, we’re recording our first ever Christmas album — and we’d love your help to make it happen.

The album will feature some of our most popular pieces from past concerts, as well as brand new arrangements and an exclusive commission that was written for us in 2023, Before the Wild Hurricane, by composer and saxophonist Olivia Murphy. The music blends classical textures with festive warmth and charm, and we’ll be joined by some wonderful guest artists including pianist Jill Morton and West End actor and singer Martin Callaghan.

We’re recording on 5th August, with the aim of releasing the album ahead of Christmas 2025 on CD and streaming platforms.

🎵 What’s on the album?

Here’s a selection of the music we’ll be recording:

  • Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (arr. Rowan Baker)
  • White Christmas (arr. Deke Sharon)
  • O Come O Come Emmanuel – with vocals by Martin Callaghan
  • Before the Wild Hurricane – a dramatic setting of A Visit from St Nicholas for saxophone quartet and narrator
  • O Holy Night, Troika, and Selections from La Bohème with guest pianist Jill Morton
  • Evening Bells by Liszt, arranged for saxophone quartet

📀 Why we need your support

Recording a professional-quality album comes with real costs — even for a small ensemble. With your support, we can cover:

  • Recording & production fees
  • Venue hire
  • Guest artist costs
  • Mixing & mastering
  • Album artwork & CD production

We’ve already raised part of the budget through our own contributions and an upcoming fundraising concert — but we’re aiming to raise £1,000 through this crowdfunder to help bring it all together.

💝 Rewards for our supporters

To thank you for supporting this project, we’re offering a range of festive perks:

🎧 £15 – A personal thank-you, your name on our website & social media, and a digital download of the album.

💿 £25 – A signed CD (inc. UK postage) + digital download of the album.

🌟 £40 – Everything above + a handwritten Christmas card from the quartet.

🎁 £50 – Everything above + a VIP ticket to our Album Launch Concert in December 2025.

👪 Why this matters

Our concerts and workshops bring people together. They’ve become a festive tradition for many families, introducing children to live music in a fun, relaxed environment. This album is our way of preserving that magic — and sharing it with more people, wherever they are.

Even if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page with friends, family, music lovers, or anyone who could use a bit of Christmas cheer.

Thank you so much for helping us bring this dream to life.

With love and sleigh bells,
The Sonorité Saxophone Quartet
