To support Beit el Baraka's work on the ground, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will match the funds raised here 1:2, by an amount of up to EUR 100,000, subject to the terms and conditions of the EBRD Community Initiative. This means that for every pound you donate, they'll contribute two!

Since the escalation of attacks in Lebanon, over 1,000 people have been killed and 6,352 injured in under two weeks, contributing to a total of more than 1,600 fatalities and 9,000 injuries since the conflict intensified in October 2023. Among those killed are 104 children, highlighting the severe toll on civilians. The casualties include not only civilians but also healthcare workers and humanitarian staff, underscoring the devastating impact on essential services and those providing aid amid the violence.

The ongoing intensification of conflict in densely populated areas across Lebanon is triggering widespread displacement and further aggravating the humanitarian needs of both affected and displaced populations. As of today, more than 1 million people - over a quarter of Lebanon's total population - have been displaced from their homes. This massive displacement is contributing to an escalating crisis, with urgent needs for shelter, food, and medical assistance (OCHA- Lebanon: Flash Update #31).

While many Lebanese families are generously offering refuge to those in need, the scale of support remains insufficient. Numerous families, including elderly individuals, are being forced to seek shelter in overcrowded schools and improvised camps, where access to basic necessities such as food, water, hygiene products, and medical care is severely limited. The need is overwhelming, and the suffering continues without a clear end in sight.

In response, Beit el Baraka, a Lebanese NGO, has launched the “South Lebanon Relief Initiative,” aiming to provide urgent aid to displaced families. This includes distributing essential supplies like food, medicine, mattresses, and pillows, while also facilitating shelter arrangements.

As conditions continue to deteriorate in Lebanon, your swift support can bring much needed hope to those enduring this crisis.
