I'm Ruby Cedar and I'm directing and producing this short film Stroke of Luck which Conor Molloy the script writer and I have been developing since last November. We have a full crew on board who are extremely talented and happen to be majority female. We have equipment and a few locations already offered in kind which we are hugely grateful for, but we are looking to source some funds for those unavoidable costs that come with making a short film.
We know that money is tight for everyone at the moment but if you are in a position to contribute a few quid for us to get creative and stretch our filmmaking muscles it would be forever appreciated.
Here is a list of cast and crew as well as a short description of the story. Please note (!) without giving too much away, it will be a surreal thriller and even features a dance scene with music being selected and sourced by our Music Supervisor Estelle Birch. Conor and I have put so much time and effort into making this film the best it can be and I am really excited to see it materialise.

Logline:
In this wonky and surreal thriller, paramedic Rachel offsets her intense work life and compassion fatigue by gambling. Deano an ever looming and dark presence has arrived to her workplace to collect on a debt she owes him.
Short Synopsis:
On the outskirts of Glasgow in 2005, paramedic Rachel finishes up a night shift at the ambulance depot. Numbed by the relentless trauma she faces day to day, she has started to use gambling as a way of relieving stress. This once rare habit has escalated into an addiction, leading Rachel to borrow money from increasingly dangerous characters. Her work life and her addiction had been perfectly compartmentalised until tonight when loan shark, Deano, approaches her in the car park after she finishes work.
As tension fuelled by the threat of violence builds to a climax, the power balance is flipped on its head and Rachel is given a disturbing choice to make.
