Help with the funding of a brand new acoustic musical
Jack and Steve are two cousins born on the same day, their love of music bonding them together like brothers. Steve has spent a lifetime watching over Jack, who since losing his mother as a child, had been withdrawn and vulnerable - Jack's passion for music was the only thing that helped him through his troubled teenage years – and then one day – he met Beth.
Five years later, Jack is living with Beth – she understands him - Jack and Steve have had some success as a duo – and are in the process of recording their second album - but things aren’t working out and Jack feels insecure in both his music and his relationship.
Due to a tragic misunderstanding – Jack leaves England – and tries to forget his life, his cousin, his career and his love for Beth - working at a bar in Amsterdam, he meets the older vivacious Charley - and then life gets complicated…
Snowfall in July is a moving and often amusing story of love, secrets and seemingly justifiable betrayal.
Please help fund a brand new ‘acoustic’ musical, written by Midlands Songwriter Andy Smith.
Plans are underway to tour the show nationally in the summer of 2018 in theatres, community halls and festivals - a comprehensive list of small theatres and venues suitable for the show has been drawn up - and we are ready to get dates in the diary!
The musical is complete and currently finishing touches are being made to an album of the songs – for release on CD, Vinyl and download.
The story is very accessible – and we believe the music is both memorable and beautiful - SNOWFALL IN JULY has something different to offer – most songs are accompanied solely on acoustic guitar and/or piano giving the vocals a chance to breathe and instruments are 'played' by the characters, giving the performance a more natural feel. The story is sad, happy and amusing and has a lovely ‘feel good’ ending -music samples can be found on our website www.snowfallinjuly.com
Staging a professional show can be very expensive - actors and musicians need paying for rehearsal time long before the show can hit the theatres - deposits are required for venues- insurances need to be paid - the list is endless - but by keeping the cast and crew to a minimum, we expect ticket sales to cover performance costs and make a profit - but funding is needed to literally ‘get the show on the road’.
We believe that 'SNOWFALL IN JULY' could be an amazing success - we just need a bit of financial assistance to kickstart the project!
Music and theatre, can provide a welcome relief from our stressful lives – please support our project – and help make a dream come true.
