Aim

This project is to create awareness about the health conditions related to smoking in cars with children with a plan to create a charity!

Summary.

"Smoke Free Journey's" Came about through a group of like minded individuals who shared the same frustrations of seeing children in vehicles with their parents or adults smoking in the car with them!

Seeing this Really upset us as all of the founders are parents we simply couldn't imagine why responsible adults who love and care for their children don't see the harm they are causing.

"Protecting children from exposure to second-hand smoke will help give them the best start in life"

Having a child contained  in a small area with only a small amount of air coming into the vehicle and allowing second hand smoke to circulate round the car while the helpless child has to just sit there and should be expected to accept that they have to inhale the smoke of carless people around them.

..

About us.

We are a group of marketing individuals that have a shared passion and interest to raise the awareness that smoking in cars will be illegal in 2015. We want to combine our skills and talents, along with our own staff free of charge so that we can spread the awareness of this campaign. We all bring to this cause and campaign different skillsets to ensure the message that smoking in cars is about to become illegal, and continue the awareness once the law comes in.

We are all parents in this group and the most important thing to us our are children and their wellbeing for their future.

The smoking ban came into force in the uk on the 1st of July 2007 and came in for a reason. This was to protect innocent people from passive smoking in a confined space. Its has since taken nearly 8 years for the government to realise that the small self contained area that a child is subjected too whilst in the presence of smoke is the same situation and in my opinion worse.

..

The Big Idea and how we are going to do it!

Our idea is simple.

1. To make people aware that smoking in cars will be illegal in 2015 throughout the Uk

2. To continue to raise the awareness so that people start to understand why they should not be subjecting children to passive smoking in such a small contained area.

3. We want to name and shame people and create a community that will help best this act of cruelity by taking photos and uploading them to the site or mobile app we will have developed.

In the United Kingdom, 430,000 Children aged between 11-15 are exposed to second hand smoke in the family car each week.

Passive Smoking in children costs the NHS over £23 Million pounds a year!

80% of cigarette smoke is invisible!

Why are we Crowdfunding and how are we going to do it?

We as a group of individuals have dedicated our time and skills to this project. Some of us are lucky enough to have our own businesses and we will be able to use the resources of our staff and own time to make sure the labour and time needed to make this project works!

We do however need to raise some money to assist in the marketing and back end support to make this work!

The free stuff:

Our time!

Set up and create social media sites to grow the fans and spread the message and raise awareness so this can grow fast!

Social media is a massive platform so that we can communicate with the children to offer support and facts that they can take on board and let them understand the dangers around passive smoking.

Creating other social media links and blogs will allow us to share these facts and figures about just how bad smoking in cars is.

What we will use the money for??

We will use the money to design and create some visual marketing material such as:-

Car window Stickers

Leaflets

T Shirts

These will be things we can promote on the street and raise the awareness visually.

We will also create a website that promotes the whole campaign but also to allow the public who support this to send in any pictures that they may have so that we can share these with the police to try and make people understand that if they break the law, then they will be punished for ignoring the law.

We need to raise the awareness for this and continue to promote the fact that this is just not acceptable in this day and age.

THE FUTURE?

If this campaign is successful and we can raise the money to do all the things that we have outlined in our initial plan, then we would look to make this an official charity. This would then allow us to raise money for children related charities so that the hard work every puts in, we can raise even more money for children who so desperately need it but also keep on raising the awareness to encourage people to think different and wait a little longer until they reach their destination without lighting a cigarette.

People break the law everyday and this is one law that shouldn't be broken, or forgotton, this is the future of our children!
