The film enables us to explore grief after suicide, foster connection and to encourage healing through shared understanding.
I have worked in the film industry for over 35 years. As an international, multi award-winning screenwriter, I began directing films after receiving my Advanced Film Directing certificate from Raindance Film School, London in 2023.
This story comes from my own, personal experience after I'd had a dream about my dear friend who took his own life. A dream in which we were sitting together having a natter as usual. I awoke, shaken by it as it was so real. It left me wanting to meet with him again to continue sharing that space.
Film logline: Haunted by his best friend’s suicide, a young man searches for meaning and closure for the grief that refuses to leave him.
Story Overview: Ray’s mental health is on the edge since he lost his best friend, Paul and isn’t able to move on without the reassurance Paul gives him in his dreams. By keeping his feelings quiet, it is up to Ray to work out that grief is not bound by time, or a test he is failing to finish, rather it is a place to visit.
The cast and crew have been selected based on their ability to deliver strong content on a sensitive subject. Details about them will be revealed soon!
Writer Sam Clegg has given permission to use his song, "Send Me A Sign".
Pledges raised for this project will ensure that the film will be made to the most professional standards possible. Simply put, the more investment, the higher the standard and the more reach to people who may be helped. Twenty percent will go toward submissions to selected film festivals, publicity and marketing for streaming channels.
