To raise awareness that children are change makers who should be listened to, discussed with and rewarded for their ideas on sustainability.
My name is Annie and I am a dedicated mother to a 10-year-old girl. When my daughter started school, I was driven by the desire to make sure her potential was fulfilled, and I ended up joining the school PTA. This decision sparked a passion within me for the education profession and whilst going through the primary school system, it was clear that the kids have a real understanding of and interest in the climate and their own ideas on how things could be changed for the better.
I wanted to harness the ideas that children have and make them realise that everyone has a voice no matter your age. My idea is to have a creative, yet informative platform designed to encourage children of all ages to be more aware of how their actions can affect climate change whilst nurturing sustainable minds for our future. My passion for sustainability, the environment, education of children and the need to bring these four elements together is the driving force behind this business.
I will be running regular competitions and workshops with a focus on creativity, recycling & topical questions, which will have monthly prizes draws and an annual exhibition where winners and interested participants can see their works displayed and interact with likeminded individuals. It is important to raise an awareness that children hold some of the most powerful tools and ideas for change and therefore should be listened to, discussed with and rewarded for their enquiring minds.
Your money can help us achieve our objectives by a) funding prizes won by children and schools b) funding action fun filled workshops where recyclable single use plastics and cardboard boxes can be brought into a meeting point and creativity unleashed and c) taking our work from local to national and where possible global scale.
