Attending this course will enable me to provide professional training for my sports projects and work.
I’m Francis Ssuuna, one of the Pioneers at the Butterfly Project Uganda, which empowers young people from disadvantaged areas of the country become social entrepreneurs.

I have recently taken significant time and advice on choosing a credible course at the University that will help me create a positive impact in my society. Therefore, have pragmatically selected what I would like to do basing on my knowledge, skills, passion, talent and the capability of creating a positive impact in my community.
In September 2018, I acquired a Level 1 Athletics Coaching certificate which I achieved from the Wellbeing Centre in Kampala, having done all the required training.
The training that I acquired accredited me to be a personal trainer and for the last ten months, I have been training at one of the local gym to support myself. I was also able to come up with a creative cross fit training class that I created from scratch and named it, “The Kampala Boot Camp” which
I run at this programme at the City Gym on appointments. The experience I have from the personal training has given me a lot of motivation to confidently decide sports as a career.

I’m also the founder of Slum Run Uganda, a youth project that I started in 2012 to help Slum children run for their school fees. Read more about Slum Run Uganda at this link;
My vision to study this course is to be able to create an impact on people’s lives and change societies using my personal training skills and my long term goal is to set up a community gym to help people get the right exercises and health tips.
I believe training is one of those special things that can create a significant impact on people’s lives in a society as people who train live confident and productive lives and as one on a quest for a better society would like to bring this kind of change where people from all walks of life can have access.
This August I plan to get back to the university to study a bachelor’s in sports science as a requirement of me becoming a highly credible trainer here in Uganda.
The Bachelor’s Degree in sports science is a three year commitment; each year has two semesters and every semester, I’m required to find £400 and this includes tuition, food, transport and some living costs. Please feel free to give a donation to this campaign to get me into the university this August
This project successfully funded on 14th August 2019
