Skipton Community Sports Hub sits in the heart of Skipton and the main social space needs furnishing so the whole community can use it.

On the 6th November 2023 we'd raised £21,467 with 182 supporters in 41 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Any extra money we raise will be used for kitchen equipment and fittings so we can provide the very best facilities for the local community. The extra money raised will be well utilised and really appreciated!
Skipton Community Sports Hub is both a charity and the name of the building that will not only be the clubhouse of both Skipton Cricket Club and Skipton Juniors FC but will be open to the whole of the Skipton and Craven community. It'll be available for both sporting and non-sporting activities and will be accessible for those less able as we will be able to expand disability sports. Everyone will be made welcome, young and not so young!
Our campaign is to furnish the new social space inside Skipton Community Sports Hub which is currently being built on the Sandylands complex, the site of the old Skipton Cricket Club pavilion. We have secured funding to actually build the hub but we now need funds so we can turn the main social space into a warm, modern, accessible and welcoming environment. In the main space we will have a kitchen, a bar and large seating/function area with fantastic views over the valley. Here's a view of our bar in the middle, the kitchen is on the right with the main event space being huge. The main space will have bi-fold doors that open to an accessible terrace. It's going to be a fantastic facility!
The view over the valley is even better in person!
This is the view below of the canopy from the main entrance of the Hub...in case of poor weather!
The Hub will not only provide a home for Skipton Cricket Club and Skipton Juniors FC but will offer fully accessible and state of the art facilities for the whole community. We have over 600+ users of the cricket and football club and we anticipate lots more groups will use the space as we have had lots of interest. It will especially offer new opportunities for those less mobile of all ages, so they can join in sporting and non sporting activities in a carefully designed building that can cater to their needs. We have a lot of old inaccessible buildings in Skipton and we can't wait to welcome new users to encourage them to become active, develop new skills, interests and positive relationships. We take great pride in it being a multi sports venue as well a venue for all the local community to enjoy and relax in.
The Hub is due to be completed by the end of December 2023 and we will be able to offer the main community space for hire for all of life's events such as birthday parties, christenings and funeral receptions etc. We will also have plenty of fun and family based evenings like bingo, quizzes and Presentations as well as opening up the space for many other local community groups to meet up.
Just like the success of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham has left its legacy, we want to create a legacy for the Skipton & Craven area which will embrace the development of sport for all. We will provide a state-of-the-art facility to inspire and engage young people and adults into football, cricket and disabled sport and that's just for starters. We want to connect with those that have been detached from sport and socialising due to lack of fully accessible buildings in our local community. The Hub will be used to intergrate our community more and enable more people to become active who will live a mentally and physically healthier life. We can't wait so let's pull together and get this journey started!
Being involved with sport is much more than playing and keeping healthy...it's also lots of smiles, fun and developing friendships as well as a sense of belonging.
The 'Together' group in Skipton enjoy their sports and when the Hub is built will be able to socialise before and after their activities as it will be fully accessible!
Sport is much more than sport! #Friendship #Fitness #Fun
