We're still collecting donations
On the 15th November 2023 we'd raised £100 with 1 supporters in 49 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Skillzing uses tech to help company employees, parents and vulnerable people learn those real life skills we don't learn at school or work.

A little bit about me. Hi, I'm Gary, and for the past 30 years, I have been designing and deploying training solutions that help people live safe and enjoyable lives. In addition to my job as a national trainer, I have successfully delivered courses within the community to over 25,000 people by working with fantastic charities like Women's Aid and Anti-Bullying UK and setting up and running a small charity called "Young People are our Future".
Working with vulnerable people and helping to make positive changes in their lives has been the greatest pleasure in my career.
I have had the good fortune to work with some fantastic trainers/educators who like me appreciate the benefits of giving back. Specialist in fitness, mental health, personal development, personal safety, and parenting skills to name a few.
The research. In 2021, I quickly realised that the negative effects of the pandemic would likely result in a spike in poor mental health, safety concerns, and numerous other problems that affect us both at home and work.
Together with a small team of trainers and well-positioned individuals within charities and companies, we started to study the numbers and consider a solution.
With the economy going into a rapid decline and household budgets being stretched to unsustainable levels, I focused on a solution that would help people in large quantities and support vulnerable people at the same time.
The reward and recognition sector is a multi-billion pound industry and companies of all sizes use R&R initiatives to attract the right people.
As the framework for these initiatives is already in operation, I wanted to create a project that could capitalise on an existing proven system, but get better results for companies and individuals.
SKILLZING. My vision is clear, bold, and exciting. Skillzing will be a production company that creates high-quality learning content that sits on an online learning platform. Content that is designed to positively impact people's lives and includes, courses, tips, and advice in personal safety, mental health, personal development, health & wellbeing, and core life skills.
Using tech, Skillzing will use animation, short powerful stories, CGI, and interactive learning activities to engage with users and inspire their imagination. After all, movies have been educating people through entertainment for many years.
Companies will purchase logins for their staff through a recruit and retention initiative that is built around providing their employees with learning content that benefits them, and their families. (Personal safety, anti-bullying, positive mental health, stress management, parenting skills, core life skills, and much more). Companies benefit from a more productive workforce, an increased level of loyalty, and staff with better and more appropriate skills.
Here's the MAGIC. Through the Skillzing "Pay it Forward" promise, every time a login is purchased, a login is donated to a charity partner so that a vulnerable person benefits from the content.
Charity partners will receive FREE logins to support people accessing their services. Skillzing will work with the charities to record the impact of the content.
The team. The core Skillzing team has been assembled and includes a lead videographer, editor, sound and lighting engineer, SFX specialist, content manager, and several training specialists who will produce the first batch of content for the platform.
Funding. Skillzing requires support to purchase the equipment to cover the first year's content development costs, including venue hire, platform development, and team overheads.
