Ski Tech - Selling it Forward

Traditionally the winter season is when LD Mountain Centre are at their busiest. Like many businesses, the global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape. With so much uncertainty, the second lockdown upon us and so many quarantine measures in place all around the world, there is little demand for winter sports equipment, with many people not planning a winter trip.

LD Mountain Centre employ specialist staff who service and repair skis and snowboards and they are able to provide the right technical advice for our customers. We are kept busy throughout the winter season with our ski & boot fitting services here in our shop in Newcastle. Sadly the ongoing pandemic is putting these jobs in our Ski Tech Department at risk.

How can you help?

Crowdfunder are offering up their platform to allow us to pre-sell our products and services for cash now on a promise to redeem these at a later date. What's more, North East Local Enterprise Partnership is also match-funding the pledges that we receive, which is a huge help towards reaching our target. So whatever amount you pledge, this will be matched by NE LEP. If we raise 100% of our target then this will guarantee the employment for 2 members of our ski tech department throughout the winter period.
