A sustainable indoor skatepark in Haywards Heath for Sussex youth—active, inclusive, and powered by clean, renewable energy.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

Founded in early 2024 by Tom Johnston, a lifelong skater who envisioned a welcoming, community-focused skate space.
Skate Farm CIC is the heart and hub of an energy-forward, inclusive indoor skatepark in Haywards Heath—powered by community, for the community.

With the core skatepark already built, funding from the British Gas Energy for Tomorrow Fund will help us future-proof the space and maximise its social and environmental impact. Here’s how:
• Install Renewable Energy Systems
Solar panels, battery storage, and energy-efficient heating/lighting to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.
• Create a Climate Education Hub
Develop workshops, signage, and interactive resources to educate young people about clean energy and sustainability.
• Expand Community Access
Fund subsidised sessions, school outreach programmes, and transport support for disadvantaged young people across Sussex.
• Green Upgrades & Maintenance
Use sustainable materials for any ongoing repairs or enhancements, and improve waste reduction and recycling facilities on site.
• Inclusive Facilities & Events
Add features for accessibility, and run inclusive events that promote well-being, inclusion, and environmental awareness.
At the Skate Farm our aim is to create a sustainable indoor skatepark in Haywards Heath, serving children, young people, and families across East and West Sussex. This inclusive, year-round facility offers a safe, positive space for skateboarding, scootering, and rollerblading, helping to address the lack of youth-focused venues in the area.
We host community events and workshops focused on physical activity, mental well-being, and environmental education. By combining sport, sustainability, and social impact, we hope to inspire the next generation to stay active, connect with others, and value the role of clean energy in building stronger, healthier communities. This is more than a skatepark — it’s a launchpad for positive change.
