Siyakhuluma We Talk Podcast is a platform that gives Asylum Seekers and Communities voices to be heard
I created Siyakhuluma We Talk Podcast during the lockdown to offer a platform for Asylum Seekers and Refugees to share their experiences and stories . As an Asylum Seeker in the UK for over 20 years, I have firsthand experience of the challenges faced by this community. Since its first airing in November 2020, Siyakhuluma We Talk Podcast has grown significantly with over 60 episodes and 2000 plays 71% in the UK 15% in the USA and 5% Globally you can also listen to the podcast on these Platforms Apple Podcasts 25% Spotify 24% Anchor 23% Web Browser 9%Overcast 6% other 14%. The podcast has also collaborated with other three projects. Enough Scotland / Community InfoSouce and ImaginAction Podcast and Cop 26 Climate change groups by conducting interviews. Also supported by Necessity funding. I have produced and edited all the episodes for these three projects through their small funding to keep Siyakhuluma We Talk Podcast growing and reaching out to people globally. However my equipment is out of date and faulty which is hindering my ability to continue raising awareness about the lives of Asylum Seekers and Refugees in the UK and giving them a platform to share their voices . I need your help to keep the podcast running by covering the cost and new equipment such as good microphones and RODECaster production solutions for podcasting streaming and to produce a good quality Podcast. Also excited for two projects that i will be involved this year producing and editing for Mental Health Project in Scotland Glasgow. Any donations are very much appreciated please visit www.wetalkpodcast.co.uk.
