Singlehanded circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight

Aim: I am raising money to contribute to my dear wife's crowdfunder to print the cookbook My Vegan Farm Food.

As an organic farmer I face many challenges like the weather and my part time hobby is also dealing with the weather, as a life long sailor. 

I am going to put to sea to complete a circumnavigation (not of the world or, indeed even of British Isles) - of the Isle of Wight,  a mere 50 off nautical miles.

This I will do single handed, facing tides and weather. It's a challenging sale and I don't expect to do it in record time.

My yacht Naida, which I built at Hardwick in 1999 - 2011, will look after me and keep me safe, as I face the perils of the deep ocean. 

I have to complete the southern part of the island in one day, as there is nowhere to stop or to anchor; this is the most exposed part of the voyage. 

As I launch and go on, I will be taking pictures and videos and will update the fundraiser and keep you posted on my FB pages - Naida's Story and Iain Tolhurst  and on my Instagram page. 

I will be sailing in July, before the cookbook fundraiser ends, and I invite you to start donating now, to keep me encouraged and supported.
