Target reached!

Our ethos is to 'Find A Way - Or Make A Way' and with your support - we will!

Aim

The Silver Linings project will help harness the community spirit of the volunteers, work and partnerships following the C19 pandemic crisis

YOUR DONATIONS CURRENTLY BEING DOUBLED AT NO EXTRA COST!

The 'Silver Linings' project aims to take the good from a terrible situation and expand the work of the Havens Community Hub to meet the 'new normal'.

By working from a central location in Denton on the coastal stretch, the Community Hub and other community development organisations, groups and charities will be able to continue to help the 27,000 residents who have been able to access support they have required throughout social distancing and shielding including food and services - for mental as well as physical wellbeing.

The Silver Linings project recognises the spirit of the volunteers, partnerships and good work that has come out of this unprecedented and challenging time and will refine and expand on new ways of working.

By supporting the Silver Linings Project you will help us

  •  Continue to support elderly and vulnerable members of the community with welfare calls, shopping and prescription deliveries and day-to-day problem solving, such as arranging extra care or organising repairs.
  •  Work with Fareshare to re-distribute hundreds of kilos of perishable produce and prevent it from entering landfill, creating environmental gases.
  •  Provide a central base for groups, charities and volunteers to use where they can access wi-fi, refreshments and administrative support for free.
  •  Support local foodbank initiatives and collections
  • Help develop new community transport links and projects that will support the logistic backlog of NHS appointments whilst ensuring safeguarding for our volunteers.
  •  Develop new projects with community volunteers to meet identified post C19 need including support for mental health - including our new 'Havens Happy Box' scheme for older / vulnerable people.
