Target reached!

Have an afternoon tea every month and create a larger community group1

Aim

To bring the local community together by inviting them for tea at the centre

Silver Road Community Centre is a local hub in the NR3 area.

Throughout the covid crisis it has remained open providing children with packed lunches over the holiday period and setting up a food bank to allow people who have suffered to enable them to eat.

We want to celebrate the fact that we have survived these terrible times and bring the community together for tea and cakes.  We want to celebrate our wonderful volunteers and bring people out of isolation to once more meet in the community.

Many local residents haven't seen anyone for months and feel wary about reaching out to society again/  We want to give them the opportunity to get used to this by setting up an afternoon tea.  Many of the local residents are elderly and/or have health issues - it will be good to see them out again and help to give them the confidence to start taking their places back in society
