Thank you for visiting our fundraising page
New Ferry Butterfly Park is an oasis of green tranquillity in a densely populated urban area. Originally an abandoned set of railway sidings, its industrial past has been transformed into a home for local wildlife.
To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we have had these spectacular butterfly-themed gates for the entrance of the park designed. These gates will help draw the eye and act as a feature point for both New Ferry and Bebington Train Station, brightening the local areas.
Mark Antony Craig, Chair of New Ferry Resident Association said:
"New Ferry Butterfly Park has been a hidden gem within this community for too long. Despite everyone's best efforts to celebrate and share its success over the last quarter of a century, so many people still do not know where exactly it sits. These gates will finally herald a new era for this much-loved community park, providing a statement gateway feature to entice even more people to discover the wealth of environmental assets it contains, whilst the design of the gates themselves will add an extra dimension to the successful "New Ferry Dancing With Colours" initiative that has been brightening up the New Ferry community since the start of the Covid pandemic."
Current support
The project has already seen support from the New Ferry and Port Sunlight Community Fund, Wirral Wildlife and Wirral Farmers Market Community Fund, as well as a £5,000 grant from the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund, which will be used towards the cost of these spectacular butterfly-themed gates to the entrance of the park.
But, we still need your help to hit our funding target. Any contrubution big or small is much appreciated, thank you..
