We dream of having changing and refreshment facilities for the benefit of our members and the local community who can utilise the facilities
Silsden Storm are a Community Rugby League Club on the border of West and North Yorkshire with a thriving junior section. We currently have upwards of 130 junior members in age groups from u4s to u13s which include 2 Girls Teams. We are hopeful in 5 years that we will have teams at every age group up to under 18s, (including Girls) and the establishment of Open Age rugby back into the town of Silsden.

We are very proud of the fact that our whole club is voluntary. Everything from the clubs committee to the coaches and the current maintenance on the Clubhouse is all done by volunteers, of which we have approximately 45 giving a minimum 5 hours per week throughout the year for our members and local community.
The club ethos is to give inclusive opportunities to everyone to be involved whether it's to administer, train, play, coach, officiate, volunteer or spectate. We can honestly say we stick to that ethos and have a glowing reputation as a family friendly club which gives everyone a chance.

Silsden Storm were formed as a junior section playing and operating out of the same facilities as the Open Age Rugby League team Silsden ARLFC, a separate entity in 2015. The changing facilities are a dilapidated park pavilion and timber shed which the Club have tried to maintain and adapt to cater for the expanding number of players and volunteers involved at the Club.
The Club constantly has issues with heated water for the showers and the kitchen within the pavilion and as the teams are getting older now, teams are more obliged to want to use the facilities. We believe that our facilities are holding us back from truly expanding and growing and would see people lost to the sport. As we play in summer now, we have been able to get our pitches into good condition, so we need to focus on ensuring we are giving ourselves the best opportunity to grow by offering adequate changing facilities.
For the last 5 years we have been looking for funding and building methods which would give an opportunity for us to give our club's community a facility they deserve.
Amazingly for us the 2021 Rugby League World Cup organisers together with Bradford Council approached us in 2022 with a grants programme for clubhouse renovation/builds and but needed the Club to provide our own monies to support the funding process to show that we are serious about the development of Rugby League in the town of Silsden.
We are now at a stage where we can achieve phase 1 of our project which is the installation of separate modular building from the current which will house 2 playing teams and a match officials' room. This is to be cladded with treated timber to fit in with the current buildings contained within the park. In addition, there will be 2 storage containers to house the rugby equipment and the Gala and Town festival lights which the Club has kindly done for a number of years. This again will be cladded to be in keeping with the current buildings within the park.
With this building we truly believe we can offer children & young people and our older members the opportunity to "develop into their best selves" through playing rugby league.
We want to tell the story of where we are now and where we have come from.
It is felt that much of our club history has been around fighting to get the best facilities for our club's members and surrounding community which has dwarfed the great work we have done in our core function, offering opportunities to be a part of the Storm family, and supporting them to grow into the best person they can be.
Thank you for reading this story, we are now looking for your financial support and hope we can develop a relationship now for the future of our great club.
