The Craft of Sign Writing - The Traditional Way

Aim

I'm hoping to join the remaining few and help keep the tradition of sign writing alive. It's currently on the red list of endangered crafts.

I'd love to keep the art of traditional sign writing alive.

I've practiced the art of traditional sign writing for a while, but to take what I've learnt to the next level I need to attend a course run by a professional sign writer. 

At this moment there are only around 300 traditional sign writers in the U.K. and the craft is currently on the Red List of Endangered Crafts. I'd love to take up this craft as a profession and become one of the few female sign writers this country has.

Traditional sign writing is very different to the more modern methods taken up today. With the traditional methods there are no computers or tech involved. It's all done completely by hand and you can see the brushstrokes and finger prints in the work of the artist which makes it so special.

I need to raise £795 to enable me to sign up to a sign writing course which can take my skill set to the next level. I'd love to keep this craft alive and continue the tradition of painting shop signs, vans, barges etc. alive.
