A chance to share Rebecca Lockyear's sumptuous celebration of our wonderful trees with a wider audience.
Our vision - to bring people closer to our trees
Sidmouth Arboretum is a charity dedicated to promoting and protecting the special treescape that we enjoy here in Sidmouth and the Sid valley.
As part of our charitable remit to promote public engagement with the local trees, we teamed up with local artist Rebecca Lockyear to produce an artwork celebrating some of our special trees. The result was a sumptuous capriccio that was used to create a limited edition of high quality Tree Towels.

Our project aim - share the artwork more widely
We now have the opportunity to bring the piece to a wider audience. Working with Sidmouth School of Art, we hope to have the original image ‘blown up’ to fill the public gallery WALLSPACE by the swimming pool.

We have had generous grants in the past for our tree planting and tree trail leaflets available free from Visit Sidmouth, but this project is not eligible. We do have some money from the sale of the Tree Towel at our recent Meet The Trees days, and we hope to sell cards and prints of the image through the adjacent Visit Sidmouth Information Centre, but we need to raise another one thousand pounds to fulfil the project, so we are coming to you our followers and supporters and asking if you can make a small donation through a Crowdfunder appeal which can be accessed here.
